Back to FAQ index Previous FAQ: What Can A South African Add To This American Concept? How Do You Define Success? Here it's important to understand that success is a very individual matter. Contrary to what we see around us it's not only about gathering lots of wealth and many possessions along the way. To prominent people like Nelson Mandela and the late Mahatma Gandhi, things other than money were more meaningful measures of their achievements. Needless to say this doesn't diminish the accomplishments of many hundreds of successful billionaires, it just shows their needs are different. This is vital because the interesting thing about human nature is every one of us has the power to be someone special. No matter where you were born, who raised you, where you went to school or how well you did or didn't do, each of us has the gifts or talents necessary to fulfil a unique purpose in life. And we all have one, it's known as our life-work. So it really doesn't matter on which side of the money spectrum your aspirations fall; all success means is moulding yourself into the person you want to be and having a sufficiently healthy level of EQ to go out and get what you want.
